Tahoe & Contacts problem

I am guessing that this is related to my recent upgrade to Tahoe but it could just as easily be my lack of understanding.
My contacts app: I can click edit then make the change then when I click done the change does not show, If I click edit again the change is still there. The change does appear on my iPhone app. I have signed in and out of iCloud but to no avail. Also the contacts page appears gray till I click edit then is goes white again.
