SOLVED Stubborn shortcut

Hello all,
Don't know how it happened, but I find a 'MacIntosh HD' shortcut in the upper-right corner of my screen. Since I think it is superfluous, I wanted to get rid of it, but in spite of all prescriptions it stays where it is. Who knows how to handle this?
I am on a MacBook Air, M1, macOS Monterey 12.5.1 Dirk

Are you sure it's not the standard Desktop "Hard disks" icon? If so to remove it select Finder, Preferences, General and untick the "Hard disks" option. Personally I like to see it on the Desktop but each to his/her own!
