A few minutes ago, I decided to run my iMac (10.6.8) through Disk Utilities. It was a little slow on the internet.

In the Verify Disk Permissions section, one line of the report read

Warning: SUID file "System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/ARDAgent" has been modified and will not be repaired.

Should I be worried ? It was the remote management part that got me thinking.

Any advice greatly appreciated .

Hi,

Personally you can ignore these messages, also you can usually ignore any ACL found but not expected type message.

These messages can occur if you change permissions on a file or directory for example they are correct in there info but generally not a cause for concern.

In addition, when Apple updates the OS, they sometimes change permissions on some system files and don't update the lookup table that Disk Utility verifies permissions against.

Like oldscribe stated, no worries.
