Rename files with prompt and sequential numbers

Hi

I have a folder that contains several files which need renaming. I need Automator to prompt me to add an ISBN number first, this will be the same for this particular batch of files but will change depending on the job. I then need to add _IN01 to the end of the file name with the end number changing sequentially.

I am very new to Automator so any help would be very much appreciated!

If you’re not up to learning a new skill (but it can always be valuable) and your needs for renaming files are quite sophisticated and varied, you could probably use Name Mangler 3. It’s not free, of course, and you can find it at the App Store.

I sometimes need to rename hundreds, even thousands of files at a time, and this app never failed me before. It will give you a preview of the results before you commit to the action.
