Recording analog

I'm trying to record some tracks from a cassette. I have the tape player(tape out) connected to the analog input on the side of my G4 PowerBook. OS 10.4.8

I would like to get this material into iTunes.

Do you have QuickTime Pro or GarageBand?

I would suggest using Audacity for recording and cutting the taped audio, it's free and not too complicated, but you'll need to install LAME to convert the recording to MP3 (download link and instructions for installing LAME is at the Audacity page).

Yes, thank you very much. GarageBand works just fine. I had looked there initially, I needed to open the right track type. Then you just bring it right into iTunes--perfect!
