Preserving Hyperlinks in a PDF

I am trying to write an email newsletter with iwork's Pages. I save it as a PDF file. When I send the newsletter out, the hyperlinks don't work. What do I need to do to make them active? (when I click on one of them in the email, the whole document is highlited and turns blue).

I have not used Pages that way, so I'm not sure it evens supports saving URLs as links in PDFs. I know it's possible with Acrobat Standard, though. I'd suggest checking the help files for Pages. Honestly, I wouldn't expect it to work on Pages, though. That program is just not very sophisticated. Even emailing a Pages document using Thunderbird, for example, does not work. It won't open at the receiver's end.
