Every time I connect my macbook pro to the wireless network, our internet speed drops from around to 23 mbps to 12 or 8 and sometimes even lower. We are using speedtest.net to monitor the speed. Any ideas why this might be happening? The Macbook Pro is running on Yosemite OSX

Hello & Welcome
What i would advise you to do is:
1. Check that you don't have heaps of tabs using up a lot of bandwidth.
2. Are there any other devices using the internet at the same time?

Hope i helped

Hello and welcome.

They only reason that issue should occur is if the MBP is running some form of file sharing/torrent process, that is constantly transferring data via your network. Do you have file sharing turned on or have an torrent software running?
