i was wondering if i get the mac mini and a eGPU, would they work if used a thunderbolt 3 to a thunderbolt 2 adapter to attach a decent GPU to power my 1080p tv as a screen and speakers. i know ill lose a lot of data transfer peed, but till they update the Mac mini to have Thunderbolt 3 i don't see another way. id love a 15-inch MacBook Pro but i just live on government disability. so trying to save up for a Mac of that quality would be pretty hard.

Hello and welcome.

-Are you looking to buy the current Mac mini?
-Are you looking at an eGPU for gaming, or just to connect to the 1080p TV?

Yes I would buy a new Mac mini and eGPU box. Then I’d connect to my television. Have a nvidia made GTx 280 just collecting dust to use till I can save up for a Vega or RTX 2080 ti.
