I have had a Macbook since 2008 running Leopard and had no problems. Last week it started to shutdown if i leave it idle for 1 minute. I have looked in the console but there are no entries related to the automatic shutdowns. I have checked all the preferences in the system preferences. Even if i dont log on i.e. leave it at the logon screen the computer will still shutdown after a minute. I have checked all the hardware and all seems to be fine. If i put the laptop in hibenation mode it will hibenate then switch off. If i try to load Leopard in safe mode it wont start and hangs on the load screen.

Does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong with it.
