Mac OS X Snow Leopard

I took to Genius Bar and discovered needed new power cord. They did a diagnostic and found nothing else wrong. However, it will not power up! Black screen and no indication of trying to start up.
Tried pressing left Shift, left Option, left Control and power button with no results!!! Help

Are you saying the Genius Bar found nothing wrong with a computer that will not power up?
