using iMac with El Capian OS. My computer knowledge is very limited.

Noticed that my available disk space decreased after web browsing in Incognito mode. Didn't download or save anything....is there a hidden location of files taking up space that I can check ?

New here, please let me know if I posted in the wrong forum.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Correct, something strange is going on here.

When you say taking up a lot of disc space how may GB are we talking about?

Hello and welcome.

I agree that it shouldn't use any measurable disk space when browsing in Incognito Mode under Chrome. It sounds like something else is taking up the space.

-As oldscribe asked: how may GB are we talking about?
-Which version of Google Chrome?

Thank you very much for your replies.

Around 3 GB were used. All I did was browse in Incoginito, nothing else during a brief time span where I happened to check the storage space before and after browsing.

I can check the chrome version, but can tell you it is relatively current as I just purchased the iMac in March.

If you quit Chrome after an Incognito browsing session, does the space get reclaimed after a restart?
