Hi,
I have a 2 years old ibook g4, which was working fine till 3 days ago. Suddenly its keypad started behaving funnily. Most of the time I can't log in because none of the keys seem to be working and then if i press few more keys then brightness key starts working on it's own . Looks like the upper row keys ( Fn keys and vol/numlock etc) works fine but not others.
trackpad is working fine and now I have removed the password from login window and I can login fine.sometimes it looks like that several keys are pressed on it's own if you open MSWord then you could see several letters being wriitten automaticaly and continuously. when I hit the apple key it stops. but starts again after some time.
Only once in some 50 bootings keypad works but then upper row keys don't. I tried cleaning the keypad by taking it out by moving the numlock screw but to no avail. have heard that apple charges a fortune for repairs.
what should I do apart from buying n external keyboard which could be more bothersome at times. Could this be a moisture problem as I was in a very humid place for a week a few days ago?
thanks.
