i-cal coordination with i-cal widget

How can I fix this problem: I put an event into I-cal and it shows in the i-cal widgit for about 1/2 day on the date and then disappears for the 2nd half of the day. Example: "8:00pm meeting at Grady" inserted in the I-Cal date 12-20-09; my I-Cal widgit shows the meeting before (the time gets to be) 12-noon on that date, but not after 12-noon. After 12-noon the meeting citation simply isn't in the widgit, although it's still in I-Cal.

Is there a fix?

I drive a Mac Pro with 10.2.6.
