Help with Messages

I have a MacBook Air and an iPhone. I was able to receive my messages from other iPhone users on both my computer and phone. Then yesterday someone told me about finding how to "find my iPhone" and I looked for that on my Mac and had to update my apple ID everywhere, blah blah. Anyway now my message don't sync between my phone and computer. I can have a conversation with my computer or my phone, but now it's like 2 separate conversations. Before all the updating I had the information showing up in both places. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Thank you

Hello and welcome.

First thing to check: are you signed into both devices with the same Apple ID?

Well, I had an update for my iPhone today and now the messages are showing up on both my phone and computer. Don't know what happened, but it's back working and I am happy. thank you for your help.

No worries...glad it's working.

Must have been something in the update that corrected that issue for some folks?
