I have a 2013 iMac and Just bought a 27 inch I9 2tb SSD. Very excited as I have started make video's of fly Tying for my fly fish club.

The big question is should I just use time-machine and restore just like my 2013 or a clean install and use Migration assitent.

Hello and welcome.

Congrats on the new iMac - sounds like a beast.

Depends on what version of OS X/macOS your old Mac was running. Normally, it is best to simply use Migration Assistant, as that will leave macOS alone, and only transfer the applications and data you choose.

OK, thanks.

I would recommend doing a migration over a full Time Machine restore.
