GIMP 2.10.32 suddenly becomes unresponsive running on Ventura 13.0 (MBA). It was working for over an hour when suddenly none of the dropdown menu would alter the picture file I was using. I tried re-installing GIMP and even running an older version. It’s a bit of a mystery. Has anyone else had anything similar?

Thanks

Hi,

I haven't used GIMP for years and am not running Ventura on my Mac. Maybe another member will chime in here, or you could try posting this in one of the two official GIMP Forums: GIMP-Discuss

OK thanks anyway. I've discovered a bit of a workaround. If you make the window smaller (instead of full screen) the functionality returns. I think I got that from a GIMP forum. Apparently it's a known bug.

It is the same in mid-November, 2024.
MacOS Monterey 12.7.6, GIMP 2.10.30 and 2.10.38 has the same unresponsive issue.
GIMP is on the Mac since 2021, everything were fine in the last 3 yrs, but today it went dead af. Uninstall 2.10.30., restart (I came from Windows, sorry!), download 2.10.38 from GIMP official website and install. And the same issue happens: doesn't open the photo I want to edit, or opens it, but GIMP unresponsive, I click anywere, nothing happens than.
SOLUTION: GIMP always opens in full size window, but once I shrink the window just 99% of the screen, everything works again...
AWESOME!!
