G4 processor upgrade

I want to upgrade (speed up) my Powermac G4 (OS 10.3.10) 533 MHz processor, I don't know what speed would be best or processor makes etc. Any information out there?

Thanks very much for that. I have been in contact with OWC and their technical people told me that in order to successfully install a new processor, I must first update my OS 10 system firmware to 4.2.8. This must be done via Mac OS 9.1 (or higher), using a 'local' disk for startup – not via Classic or from a CD application. I have a CD version of OS 9.2.2 but I cannot see a way of booting from it. Any ideas?

Powermac G4 533 MHz (single) running OS 10.3.9 and Classic OS 9.2.2.
Intel Imac 1.83 MHz running OS 10.5.

the only way to do this is to install OS 9 onto your hard drive. which means you would have to create a partition and erase your hard drive. to do this youll have to create the partition with the OSX install disk then install os 9 on one of the partitions.
