As most folks know, I am an advocate of 1) doing my own disk cleanup on a daily basis, 2) running Onyx once a week to do disk cleanup, and 3) running TechTool Pro right after I run Onyx to do more disk cleanup, along with disk maintenance and (if necessary) disk repairs. I have also "waxed poetic justice" for the excellent freeware product GrandPerspective (available from here: http://grandperspectiv.sourceforge.net/) for graphically viewing storage taken up on one's Mac. Also, I recently discovered Funter (available from here: https://nektony.com/products/funter), a very good program for detecting hidden files. Finally, I have mentioned another excellent freeware program, AppCleaner (available from here: https://freemacsoft.net/appcleaner/), which is very effective at finding all the various files associated with an application that one wants to remove from their Mac.

Additionally, myself and others have stated quite a few times that one needs to avoid using MacKeeper and CleanMyMac at all costs. Well, I just saw this on www.macworld.com:

http://www.macworld.com/article/317...ng-large-files-you-dont-need-on-your-mac.html

I don't use Spotlight myself, but apparently re-indexing can help with storage spaces anomalies. But the somewhat disturbing thing is the author of that article recommends CleanMyMac 3. I know that the folks at Macworld are good, but I wonder about that recommendation. (Here is the review they stated in that article: http://www.macworld.com/article/291...ake-more-room-on-your-crowded-hard-drive.html)

I would appreciate any comments/suggestions, etc., about this. I myself am going to stick with my routine mentioned above.
