Formatting iBook G4 for seagate 2tb hardrive

Hi Guys

I am trying to format the above using the instructions at this link http://www.seagate.com/ww/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=da3bd85104b51210VgnVCM1000001a48090aRCRD
Unfortunately the laptop is quite old and so far after follwing the
instructions and letting it run (36 hours each time) I keep getting a
failed error "Volume Erase failed with error, the underlying task
reported failure on exit". Can anyone advise whether there is an easier
way to format this model?

Those instruction look right.
You might have a faulty drive???

Hi Kaveman, don't think so, I bought 2, both work fine on pc and both return same error on iBook.

Your HD may be to large for this model
Some older Macs had a 128 GB drive limit
not sure on the iBook G4 though
Try partitioning it to a smaller size and also check the jumpers and set them the same as old drive
