10.9.1 on MBP. Home Wifi is Verison fiber optic. Connection used to be immediate and available all the time, but in Maverick it takes up to a maddening minute of more, seemingly to sort through all the WiFi connections I have ever had (travel a lot). Even then it does not finally select the Verison source which I have put at the top of my WiFi list. Do not see any way to remove other potential sources from list. Help much appreciated! Hello and welcome.

To remove preferred/saved networks:

1. Apple Menu > System Preferences > Network
2. Click on Wi-Fi to select it
3. Click on Advanced... button
4. In Wi-Fi section, you will see preferred network listing
5. Click on a network in the list, then click the minus button
6. Click OK

You can delete as many as you want. And yes, you can click and hold to drag them into whatever order you would like.

If the issue persists after deleting the old networks, we can guide you through resetting the network preferences to defaults. Sometimes that will resolve this type of issue.
