I am currently working on making a few videos at my old High School to help with a few projects they needed to have done. I am working on it in school, using a Mac Pro with Final Cut Pro 5. On my Mac Pro at home I run FCP 5.1. On my personal Mac, exporting an hour video takes about a minute, but using the school's it is taking an hour for a 30 second clip, regardless of file type or codec. The only differences are that I have a gig more of RAM at home, and I do all my work on a second internal HD, opposed to the operating system drive, would the RAM, HD or version difference effect export time that much? Is there anything anyone can suggest?
