Hello and welcome.

-Which version of OS X/macOS?
-Are the books from the iBooks Store?
-If not, where did they come from and how were they added on your iMac?

Thanks for your response. OS X El Capitan, 10.11.6 The books are not from the iBook Store. They were downloaded from a free page in the internet. The Gutenberg Project. They were added by simple cut and paste.

Thank you Cory. I already tried that. Actually the problem is not so much the exporting of the files as is the final result. In other words, while the files are transferred they are not readable. For some reason just the cover of the book shows as a photo file but none of the text pages. Is it weird? Am I missing something? I did the same with my iPhone with no problems whatsoever.

Hi V, Tried that, done that. File transfer is not the problem. Android won't read those files.:(
