dvd lost and won't eject

I have a macbook pro, I put a viewing dvd in drive, it won't show on desktop or finder. I've been to system pref and selected to show etc. Its just still in there. I tries to restart iwith mouse down, but it got stuck in restart. I just booted down.

Eject key on your keyboard, the eject symbol is an up arrow with a line on it. Hold it down for 6 seconds.
