Deleting Main Account

Hi,

Please does anybody know how I can erase the main user account on my iBook without entering the password - as I do not know it

Hi there Bailey and welcome !

If you boot from your OS Install Disk, reboot hold down the C key...

When it is booted...do not reinstall...look in the Menubar and select Password reset.

This will allow you to reset the main password.

Hi Ric, thank you for getting back to me.
Unfortunately, I do not have the install disk to hand is there any other way I can do this or do I definately need the install disk.

Hi Baily,

with out a lot of hacking, then no there is no other way.

If you haven't got an Install disk then you could take it to a local Apple Store and see if they would help reset it...
