I was unable to connect my Windows 10 pc to my new 24” iMac during set up so I left that and set my id up successfully. I then connected my Windows 10 pc directly to the iMac with an Ethernet cable and transferred data successfully.

When it all completed I found myself set up on the iMac with 2 user options on the initial screen. The original user id and a new one with the same user name. The new one contains all the data successfully installed.

What I’d like to do is make the data available under the original id and then delete this 2nd one.

Any suggestions please??

Hello and welcome.

Sorry we didn't repond, but glad you found a solution.

When setting up a new Mac using Migration Assistant, it is best not to create an account, especially with the same name that you want to transfer. You should perform the migration during the setup, which will prevent the issue you ran into.

Be well, and we're here if you need us.
