Create several folders according to files names

Dear all,

I have 1.500 images that I would like to distribute accross new folders using the images file's name. For example I have two different images called "sugar free cookie1" and "sugar-free-cookie 2". I would like to create a new folder called "sugar free cookie" that contains both images.

I am looking for automating this action for the 1.500 images. I have an excel file with a correspondance between the image's name and the folder name.

Hello and welcome.

Sorry for the delayed response.

That is well beyond my experience with Automator/AppleScript. Maybe another member will chime in, or the folks over at MacScripter may be able to help.
