Copy on exit

Greetings all,

I'm looking for a workflow or script that will execute a copy of directories from an internal drive to an external volume when the "Exit Disk" is initiated for the external volume. The workflow or script should compare directory structure / files only copying items that are different from the source location (internal drive) to the destination location. Once the transfer has been completed, the original files should be deleted from the source location while leaving the directory in tact (leave empty root directory).

Should anyone have a resolution to this problem, I would appreciate any advice you can offer. Please keep in mind I am the poster child for “Babe in the woods” insofar as programming so please respond accordingly.
