Chromecast software

I have a Chromecast; tried to install it and found that the new software no longer can be used on a computer. I don't use my cell phone as a computer, nor do i own a tablet. Does anybody have the legacy chromecast software that can be used on a Mac? (iMac running OSX El Capitan).

You could try this: Chromecast for Mac. I believe that is used just to setup a Chromecast device. The Google Chrome browser supports casting directly from the browser to Chromecast devices - use the three vertical dots in the upper right corner of the Chrome browser window and choose Cast...
