cannot get i-tunes download to launch

Hi, I am new to this forum.

I am trying to get i-tunes software to launch.
I downloaded a free version from internet, and followed steps to install.
it says it has been installed.
When I go to the i-tunes program under applications on my harddrive,
I click on it and it does not launch??

any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong?

Strange, assuming that you have a Mac, iTunes should have been on your Mac already, as it comes with the operating system. Did you only click on the iTunes icon once? If so, try double clicking on the itunes icon next time.
