automator, please play a sound whose name matches excel cell text

Hi all, total n00b here. I'm having trouble making an automator service that takes the selected cell text in excel and plays a sound file of the same name.

Here's the applescript:

on run {input, parameters}
set soundFile to theSound
tell application "Play Sound"
playsoundFile
end tell
end run

I added a pic of what I've got going. Any hints or help is appreciated. The point of it all is to make a database of tone minimal pairs in an indigenous language.

I'm not sure "excel" would be the best host for playing sounds, it's a heavy lifting spreadsheet?

You are right! I'm working with tone data in Excel. I want to make a service that plays sounds as I muck about with my tone data. So when I select the text in a cell, it plays the sound file of the same name.
