2.2 ghz?

if a mac is 2.2 ghz with duo core does tht mean there are 2x1.1 ghz or 2x2.2 ghz beacause with it cuming up to christmas i have had a hard desision a alienware pc or macbook and i am going with macbook as apple are far better than microsoft and the main reason i want a macbook is beacause EPIC said they are bring gears of war out for mac so this could go towards the games forums but the real question is i no mac clock there processor speed different to pc so if i need 2.4 ghz min for pc gears of war will it be for mac the same wich a standard mac wont be capable with or will they say u need round 2.0 ghz
