I recorded a PowerPoint presentation for my colleagues but I cannot find the file.

When you complete the same action on a Windows computer it asks you where you would like to extract the file to (which folder) but it doesn't give you that option on a Mac.

Please can someone tell me where I can find the MP4 file recording on a Mac from the PowerPoint recording - thank you?

I don’t use MS PowerPoint much but check to see in its settings if there is a way to specify a location to save those files. Otherwise, you could make a note of the exact file name of the file you saved and use Spotlight, or a third-party app of your choice (e.g. Find Any File.app, my choice,) to locate it.

Hello and welcome.
  • Which version of macOS?
  • Which version of PowerPoint?
  • What application did you use to record it?
Sometimes the default for video recordings is a folder inside Macintosh HD > Users > Your User > Movies. It may be in a folder with the name of the software you used to create the recording. Or, check Desktop or Documents.

I think before being able to give a good answer it will depend on what you mean by "I recorded a PowerPoint presentation?

Did you create a PowerPoint with an embeded Video? Did you use another app to make a video of the presentation?

The more info you give the better of a response you will get.
