I had a screen pop up on my iMac saying a page I had just visited left a virus on my computer. It had a dialogue box telling me to click on it to begin the repair process. The page was blank except for the box and the URL was crazy long. I closed the screen. Anyone know what this was and if I need to do anything? Thanks.

Hopefully you did not click on it for any "repair process"! Typically, those are bogus messages. But, for piece of mind, you should download, install, and run the excellent freeware program Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (for the Mac). You can get it from here:

https://www.malwarebytes.com/antimalware/mac/

I (and others on this site) have successfully used it, and it works.

It would also help if you perform periodic disk cleanup/maintenance/repairs. Have you ever done that?

Thanks for the help. Fortunately, I closed it out and did not open it. I'll check out the link you provided. Again, thanks for taking the time to respond. Cheers.
