System Crash

Hi. I am experiencing trouble with my old mac powerpc. Sometimes when I boot up the system, I get blue pixels around the edges of the icons. This tends to happen most often after using the dvd player. Also, the display freezes and the sound continues to run. Right now, I am on OS X 10.3.9, and this is the old half dome powerpc. Can anyone help me?
