Some websites load then go blank

I have problems with several websites which load up, then when I click on a button it either doesn't load or loads then goes blank.

I have the same problem in Safari, Google Chrome or Firefox. I have an iMac running OS X v 10.6.4.

Any suggestions welcome, my son's Powerbook does not have this problem.
