Problem changing home page installing FireFox

Have OSX 10.8.5 operating system

Initially Firefox was installed by Comcast technician using Comcast as Home Page
then went to Safari using Yahoo as home page. I now have Verizon for internet service

I deleted Firefox and reinstalled but it won't let me change the home page to Yahoo instead of Comcast.
I've installed software updates and shutdown and restarted but it still comes up with Comcast Xfinitity as
default home page and not Yahoo.

Where do I look to delete this?

Hello and welcome.

Try this in Firefox:

1. Click on Firefox in menu bar
2. Select Preferences...
3. Click on General
4. Type in http://www.yahoo.com in Home Page: box
5. Close the window
6. Quit Firefox
7. Launch Firefox

Let us know if that doesn't fix it.
