Funnily enough, yes :)

One of the things I have found infuriating is not being able to use my trusty MS Photodraw. I know everyone thinks it's cr*p and that even MS binned it. But I think it is far more user friendly than photoshop elements 3.

So, my question is how can I use it on my mac?

I have gone to the trouble of getting Virtual PC and can use my Office 97 via that, but it won't load Photodraw properly...

...any ideas why not?

Hi there,

what version of Virtual PC are you running ? Does it give any error messages ?

Whilst I understand switching is very hard, and you're more efficient and happier running MS Photodraw, it may be better in the long run learning afresh.

Are they any specific 'things' that you use MS Photodraw for, may be we can help you do them in Elements or suggest another piece of software that may be better suited...

I use photodraw for all kinds of things. Playing with my own artwork/photographs making amusing little pics for posting on messageboards....but I have been unable to since changing to Mac.

I even got a cheap laptop just so I could use photodraw! But in practice switching between the two is a real pain...and because I got the cheapest it is sooooo sloooww.

I can't seem to get to grips with layers...I understand the concept but I can't seem to do what I want. I am rubbish at sitting down and reading a manual. Photodraw was so intuitive. If you wanted to make a picture on the page bigger - you just dragged the corner. Every thing was so untechnical and simple for my simple brain.

Here's a little movie for layers...the image is a sample one which should be on your Mac.

Elements is a cut down version of Photoshop, which some of us have been using for a while ;-)

Layers are integral to Photoshop/Elements so once you've got you're head round them you'll be off and running...

...think of them as sheets of acetate each with a different part of the picture on...then piled on top of one another...like animation movie 'cells'...the one in the bottom of the list is the bottom one in the picture...

Let us know you're sticking points and we'll see what we can do...
