iOS apps in my iMac's trash

Hi,

A couple of days ago my iMac's trash can filled with a whole load of apps from my iPad. I'm not sure why this happened (perhaps something to do with multiple Apple accounts and installing Mavericks?) but am I safe to empty my trash? In other words if I empty my trash on the iMac will it affect or uninstall the apps in my iPad?

Possibly what you are seeing is the same as me but is only local to my MacBooks if software has updated. The older version ends up in the trash and I just delete.

On the iPad in SP > iTunes and App Store are automatic downloads turned on?

Thanks, Oldscribe. I wondered if it is simply old versions of software, I was surprised by how many appeared simultaneously though, around 30 apps...

Currently I have all auto downloads switched off.

iTunes does a big update from time to time, or when you plugged your device in it notices the updates and trashes the old versions on mass.
This is normal.
