Am about to trade in my MacPro early 08 for the new 27" iMac (when it arrives hopefully in January)... I currently have two external HDs, one WD and one home-made kinda with Firewire connections. Do I have to buy new external HD hardware or can these be adapted for Thunderbolt connectivity to the new iMacs?

Thanks.

You can buy an Apple Thunderbolt to FireWire Adapter cable. It seems to work better for AC powered desktop drives than bus-powered portable drives however.

Most Enclosures have USB. That will be what I'm using until Thunderbolt enclosures come down in price.
