MacOS 10.4.11; G5 PowerPC
Backup made with LaCie Intego
PROBLEM
Hard drive failed
Had a backup
Had the only local Mac tech firm put in a new hard drive, but they reinstalled MacOS 10.4 from CD rather than from backup and refused to do it from backup as it "was against their policy"
Anyway, so now I am restoring stuff from the backup by copying files across. Did the Users folder fine, did Apps folder fine. Most apps work again fine, but some need a reinstall, I assume their systemy stuff is missing. So...
QUESTION
The backup includes a whole stack of folders that I normally cant see like "System folder". Do I need to copy these across from the backup? If so, where to, given I can see the current System folder"?
