iPad2 ios9 problem(s)

I made the mistake of listening to Apple saying I should update my iPad2 to ios9.1. Now, among other problems, it does not go into sleep mode when i close the magnetic cover. I'm almost considering trying to revert back to older version (ios6?) but that looks beyond my ios knowhow. I am not going to be forced into buying a new iPad for this. If a 4 year old ipad is too old to be unusable, I will scrap iPads altogether. I have 10 year old windows desktops that are still perfectly usable.

Never mind. I found it via the lock/unlock setting. I guess I had switched that when I was trying to figure out how to disable the passcode that I had never used but turned itself on with the update.
