Several items freezing in the Dock and won't 'Force Quit'.

When I try 'Force Quit' the item i select goes black/dark.

None will work until i restart my iMac, Tahoe 26.1

It seems to happen when I wake up the Mac after a night's 'sleep'?

The Problem apps I remember - Mail: Google Chrome: Calender: Finder: plus probably 3 others.

I tried to copy the Finder 'Force Quit' list to the desk top but it never made arrived.

I experienced somewhat similar behavior myself, especially after installing macOS 26. What I ended up doing routinely is at the end of the day I make sure I want to start the next day with the exact apps and windows presently open. Then I will log out and check “Reopen windows when logging in.” Next morning I select Restart and it will put me in the same status as when I logged out the previous day.

What I think that’s happening is that overnight “housekeeping” routines are causing instability in the system that necessitates a restart rather than just waking up the Mac. I’m presently running 26.2 Beta (25C5048a), but I experienced something similar to what you describe even before macOS Tahoe.
