dictionary doesn't bring up definitions

I have checked my parental controls (i logged in under administrator anyway), but when i type in any word it says "[word]" could not be found. This is both on the dictionary application and the dictionary widget.

Have you tried repairing permissions and, or deleting the playlist file of the Dictionary?
