Can't trash files

Im am using iMac7,1 Intel Core 2 Duo with OSX 10.4.1.
I cant seem to trash files desktop even when I enter Admin codes all I get is "The operation cannot be completed because you do not have sufficeint privileges for some of the items". The documents are not locked???
Help?:

Which files are you trying to trash?
