Benefits and need of VMware Fusion?

total mac newbie here. this is a macbook for home computing: music, web, movies, some work, etc.

what are the benefits of using fusion?

i have office for mac 2008 and found out how to see media player files. what is the point of having fusion on my computer if, for the most part, i can do everything w/out it?

I use VMware Fusion...

I just like the way it works, I have to pop into different OS's mainly XP quite a lot. I do a lot of training and sometimes it's easier to 'show' a PC user how to do something rather than tell them...using Fusion I can just run Windows in a Window record it and send it to them, or run Windows and share my screen with them...

It sounds like you don't really need it.. Boot Camp works very well and is free, all it means is that you have to reboot to get into Windows.
