App has full access but still requires permission repeatedly

I use an app called Universal Media Server to stream video content to my TV's.... Before Catalina (currently 10.15), no problems, all worked fine. Now everytime I start the app it comes up and says

"Universal Media Server would like to access files in your Desktop folder." With 2 options "Don't Allow" and "OK"

No matter how many times I keep pressing OK it keeps popping back up. I have changed the permissions to full disc access but it doesn't seem to help. Any ideas? I use this app a lot and this is quite a pain.

Hello and welcome.

I am not familiar with Universal Media Server. I see from their website that it seems to be a port of PS3 Media Server by shagrath.

It may be best to contact their support Issue Tracker or visit their Forum, as it may not be fully compatible with Catalina.
