Hello all,
recently I have discovered a new OS, Tahoe 24.1 and have immediately updated. After the update Safari crashes every time I open it.
Once it takes 5-10 seconds, then again it is immediate. The only extension I had running within Safari was the Ad blocker. I have tried to disconnect it
but Safari is not open long enough to do that. Anyway, I am not sure the Ad blocker is the culprit. When Safari crashes there is no explanation
for the error, it just says: "quit unexpectedly" and an option to report this to Apple.

Has anybody a suggestion on how to get back to normal functioning again? Thanks, Andy

What model Mac are you running? Is it not compatible with the most current version of macOS? The latest version of macOS Tahoe is 26.4.1 (25E253). Unless you cannot install 26.4.1 on your Mac, getting your version of Safari to work properly can be problematic. Actually, even in my case, running macOS Tahoe 26.4.1, I still detected problems with Safari and for that reason, I have switched to Brave as my preferred browser.

My suggestion is to download and install Brave and test it out against Safari. I use both browsers, depending on which one works better for what I need. It does not have to strictly be one or the other. There are other options such as Safari Technology Preview, Firefox, Google Chrome, among others.

If your Mac is an M Series (Silicon Mac) then Tahoe should be fine. Mine is. The current version is 26.4.1 you could try applying that update but it may not fix the problem.
Have a look for Safari on the App Store, if it doesn't say "Open" then you do not have the current version so update it.
I'm assuming you have powered off the Mac and Rebooted it. If not do try that. It's always a good idea after an upgrade. A lot of things get reset when you do this.

If all of the above fails to get Safari running there could be some other causes but the above suggestions are the easy ones especially turning the Mac off at the AC wall plug, waiting a minute or two then starting up again. I would try that first.
