Video port on 2007 imac

I want to connect my imac to my tv. I bought a mini dvi to hdmi because everything I can find says my imac has a mini dvi port. The adaptor does not fit. I also have a macbook pro also has a mini dvi port. the adaptor does fit in the mac book. So the question is what video port or what adaptor do I need for the imac?

Your iMac does have a Mini-DVI port. The cable image you posted is a Mini DisplayPort cable, that's why it doesn't fit the iMac, but it does fit the MBP.

There isn't an official Apple Mini-DVI to HDMI cable, as DVI is video-only and HDMI is video and audio. There may be a third-party solution, but it may have issues and be expensive.
