New unknown icons in menu bar?

What are these new icons in my menu bar?



CMD + Dragging doesn't do anything.
Clicking on the first one doesn't do anything
Clicking on the second one brings up a Notifications menu with a pause button and a gear button, both of which do nothing.

Doesn't look like Apple Software, might be something you installed.

Check Activity Monitor for all the running processes.

Also, check your Login items:

1. Click Apple on left side of menu bar
2. Select System Preferences... from drop-down menu
3. Click on Users & Groups
4. Click Login Items

Let us know what is listed there. usually you should see iTunes Helper, maybe some others.

I figured it out. Chrome is adding some experimental notification icons in my menu bar.

Hi,

Pleaded you have found out the reason for these newly added icons.
Suspect many here love Chrome but personally found it to intrusive and hogs a lot of memory , ran for a day then removed.
Generally like to know what software is doing regarding altering my system. Thats why I like Safari with Camino as a backup.

Chrome lasted less than an hour on my Mac
