When I connect my iPhone or iPad to my iMac with a cable, I see that

“Show this iPhone when on Wi-Fi.” (or iPad) is checked.

But when I unplug it, finder doesn't see my iPhone. I still can move my Mac's cursor to my iPad.

I have two Wi-Fi networks, one for my apartment and one for my apartment building. I have tried setting my iMac and iPhone to either Wi-Fi network, and Finder still doesn't see the iPhone. (When I take a walk, my iPhone switches to the apartment building Wi-Fi, and when I get back I have to manually change it back. I wish it did that automatically.)

What can I do to get my Finder to see my iMac via Wi-Fi?

Since my latest IOS update, my finder has seen my phone on Wi-Fi. Nothing else was changed. (And my problem was an old one).
